Mechanical engineering, as one of the most basic engineering fields, has always been a pioneer in solving the problems faced by humanity. Mechanical engineers work in a wide range of fields, from defense and aerospace industry to automotive and white goods sector, from biomedical technology to energy and robotics applications, from HVAC and management fields to business and management sciences. In short, mechanical engineering touches all areas of life and is intertwined with it. For this reason, mechanical engineering can take part in every sector and line of business and remain valid among the most sought- after professions of today. In this context, our main goal is to contribute to the technological transformation of our country by training fully equipped engineers who will direct designs and products in different sectors.

Özyeğin University Mechanical Engineering Department is energized with its dynamic academic staff that prioritizes research and development activities. Our academic staff consists of faculty members who have studied at the best universities in the world. In addition, all of our members returned home after gaining experience in various universities and research laboratories or important R&D and engineering companies after their doctorate.

The working areas of the faculty members focus on Advanced Manufacturing-Materials Technologies, Mechatronics-Robotics and Thermal-Fluid Sciences. The research and application laboratories in the departmental infrastructure provide our students with the prospect to reinforce their theoretical knowledge in the most advanced way and equip them to be successful both in industry and academia.

Our students can work on high-tech research and industrial projects in laboratories and centers supported by various national and international funds, and they prepare themselves for the future in the most effective way with the mentorship of faculty members. While our graduates who take part in these projects can shorten their path to employment, they also have the opportunity to continue their MS and doctoral education at national and international distinguished universities.
