We Came in First in Turkey’s First Metaverse Hackathon

Ozyegin University team made up of the Faculty of Architecture and Design and the Faculty of Engineering students came in first in Turkey’s first Metaverse Hackathon held online jointly by Gamefed, Coderspace, and Pera Games from March 11 through March 13, 2022.  The team competed in 10 different Metaverse-centered categories both individually and in teams of maximum 5 persons, offering a virtual stage experience in the Metaverse to users with their “V-Theatron” project. The project offers different stage options for both professional and amateur exhibitions of performing arts including theater, ballet, and musical performances. Moving the concept of stage confined by the laws of physics to a virtual universe, the project enables performances that push the boundaries of imagination.

We would like to congratulate Ali Leylekoğlu, a graduate of the Department of Communication Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Yiğitcan Tumri, senior Communication Design student at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Doruk Kaya, a graduate of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Nazlı Nur Çetin, junior Electrical-Electronics Engineering student at the Faculty of Engineering, and Kerem Yıldırım, senior Mechanical Engineering student at the Faculty of Engineering on their achievement, and wish all our students continued success.
